QUOTE:

Be careful what you give children, for sooner or later you are sure to get it back.

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid

Kinney, Jeff

The Clockwork Three

Kirby, Matthew J.
A busker, a maid, and an apprentice clockmaker join forces to help each other overcome their problems. Sort of steampunkish, what with the talking mechanical head and all. Good story!

Words I Had To Look Up:

carbuncle (pg. 29) -- A carbuncle is an archaic name given to any red cabochon cut gemstone. It's also a yucky skin infection!

Con Ed

Klein, Matthew
Kip Largo, ex-con/con man, has to run a con to save his son from a gambling debt. Pretty funny in parts, but the ending seems real noir, if I'm using the term correctly.

A Piece Of The World

Kline, Christina Baker
A fictional biography novel about Christina Olson, of "Christina's World". Really very good.

Tomorrow and tomorrow

Knight, Damon, ed.
Ten science fiction stories by various authors. I really liked And Now The News by Theodore Sturgeon, and Gomez by C.M. Kornbluth. Old favorites they are. I did not care for Rogue Ship by A.E. Van Vogt or A Sign In Space by Italo Calvino.

The Unincorporated Man

Kollin, Dani
Co-author Eytan Kollin. Man from four hundred years in the past is awakened in a world where there are no taxes, but people and corporations (and the government) own shares in each person. Better than I expected. Best guffaw was the "refrigerator" incident.

Mark's mom takes over management of a Little League team. Pretty good.

Father's Arcane Daughter

Konigsburg, E. L.
Girl kidnapped 17 years before returns to family. Brother and sister deal with her return. Told in a flashback style. Probably a surprise ending if one hadn't read the last few pages first...

Fuzzy Navel

Konrath, J. A.
In book five of the series we find Jack once again under fire, not only from her nemesis, but some wanna-be military types. Quite violent, also funny.
