The Rooster Bar

Grisham, John
I read this in two sittings, no problem. Nothing new, just a nicely written lawyer (well, maybe not so much lawyer...) story. Very enjoyable, and I had fun looking up places in Senegal, too.

Read:

Juror Nicholas Easter seems to be manipulating the jury in a landmark cigarette company trial.

Theodore Boone Kid Lawyer

Grisham, John
Teen Theo's parents are lawyers and his goal is to be a lawyer, too. Or a judge. A rather serious young man, still he gets along well with his peers. I feel a sequel, as nothing is resolved in this episode.

Quote:

Humorous Quote #1:
"Can you cough again for us, Teddy?" his mother asked. (pg. 93)

Humorous Quote #2:
"I'd rather not go to jail," Theo said. (pg. 185)
"I really don't want to go to jail," Theo said. (pg. 186)

Theodore Boone: The Abuduction

Grisham, John

Grogan, John
Life with the Worlds Worst Dog. A very excellent story, weeps at the end.

Read:

Teaching Hope

Gruwell, Erin
Stories from the Freedom Writer teachers, about their experiences in teaching. Some really poignant stories. I kind of weeped up at the story of Pablo and Frankie (#147).

The Million Dollar Putt

Gutman, Dan
Ed, a blind teen, takes up golf. Pretty good story.

Quote:

I sure wouldn't want to have asthma. I think I would worry all the time about when my next attack would come. At least blindness is something you can count on every day.

Caught

Haddix, Margaret Peterson
Book five in The Missing series. By far the most interesting of the series (so far) as I had NO idea about this Einstein stuff.

Found

Haddix, Margaret Peterson
Book 1 of the The Missing series. An adopted teen gets a disturbing letter. And then another. And then there was that mysterious airliner with all the babies thirteen years before. Pretty good, feels like I've read it before, though.
