Harry investigates a Triad murder, then his daughter is kidnapped and he goes to Hong Kong to rescue her. Eleanor is killed, the daughter is rescued. What goes on in Hong Kong stays in Hong Kong, but nothing is what it seems. A real page turner.
Harry Bosch investigates a murder of a child that happened twenty years ago.
QUOTE:
At the top of the page she had written "City of Bones." [...] "Why do you call it that?" She shrugged her shoulders. "Because we're setting out the streets and the blocks of what will become a city to us," she said, [...]. "At least while we're working here it will feel like it. Our little city."
Harry Bosch is retired and decides to investigate a robbery involving 2 million dollers, movie makers, a missing FBI agent, and four kings. Very good, as usual.
Lawyer Mickey Haller falls into a big-time case, his first in a year since going through rehab. Harry Bosch plays a big part in this story, with a surprising conclusion.
Words I Had To Look Up:
Maybach (pg. 316) -- A very expensive car I never heard of. Looks like a Lexus to me!
Pretty darn good tale of Harry Bosch tracking down a serial killer from the cold case files, and also figuring out if the son of a councilman committed suicide or was murdered.
Bosch, working reserve for the SFPD, works on a case about a serial rapist, and on the private side works on a possible heir to a very rich man. Very nice read.
